The “Official” Krampus Jello Shots Recipe

A holiday tradition that never lasts the night

Every winter, we throw our annual Krampus Party at the distillery. Nearly 300 people pack the space — the music’s loud, the room smells like citrus and winter spice, and the bar is moving nonstop.

And every year, without fail, these disappear.

It doesn’t matter how many we make. Twenty. Forty. Sixty. At some point in the night, someone leans over the bar and asks the same question:

“Are there any more of those?”

There never are.

These Krampus Jello Shots have become a tradition — bright citrus up front, warm spice underneath, and unmistakably Krampus all the way through. They’re smooth, strong, and dangerously easy to eat, which is probably why they sell out every single year.

This is the version we’re willing to share.

Krampus Orange Spice Jello Shots

Makes 20–24 shots

Ingredients

    • 1 cup Krampus Herbal Liqueur
    • 1 cup boiling water
    • 1 box (3 oz) orange Jell-O
    • ½ cup cold water
    • ⅓ cup orange juice (replacing part of the cold water)
    • Optional garnish: cinnamon sticks, dried or candied orange peel, cloves, or star anise

How to Make Them

    1.    Dissolve the gelatin
Pour the boiling water over the orange Jell-O powder and stir until completely smooth.

    2.    Add the cold liquids
Stir in the cold water and orange juice.

    3.    Cool briefly
Let the mixture rest 4–5 minutes — hot, but no longer steaming.

    4.    Add the Krampus
Stir in one full cup of Krampus Herbal Liqueur.

    5.    Pour & chill
Transfer into silicone molds or 1–2 oz cups. Refrigerate at least 3 hours (overnight preferred).

    6.    Garnish (optional)
Finish with orange peel or a cinnamon stick.

Why These Work

    •    Bright citrus cuts through the spice
    •    Real orange juice adds freshness without weakening the set
    •    Krampus stays front and center — not buried under sugar

They’re festive, strong, and far more dangerous than they look.
